editing a scanned document

Did you scan the resume in using character recognition software did you just use your regular scanning software to scan in an image of the resume. If you scanned it in as a document using character recognition software, then you can change the read only attribute of the file by finding the file in Windows Explorer, right clicking on the file, choosing "Properties", then removing the check mark next to "Read Only". If you scanned it in as an image, then you cannot edit the file in Works, becuase it it just a picture of the orginal document (made of pixels) which will not be recognized as text.

says that it comes with Optical Recognition Software (OCS). This is what you need to use. Refer to the documentation that came with your unit to find out how to use the OCS software.

not sure what character recognition software is if it didnt come with works or my scanner that I prob don't have it. is there any way to scan it in some how and edit????
