error with windows media player audio

im having problem with windows media player. everything was working fine untill yesterday. My media player is ok to play all  the videos but it wont play any song. as soon as i try to play audio songs. error message comes up saying "

"Windows Media Player has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

today is the second day i cant play any music. please help

p.s ive got codec package (klite) everything was ok till yesteerday

Us the System Restore function and restore the PC back to a date/time that it worked.  See if that fixes it. 

BTW, I have no idea what "klite" is.

You might also want to do a virus scan. Did you download a song or video recently that promted you to install this klite codec? It's possible you also downloaded adware/spyware with it.

thanks alot for your replies. I have fixed the problem. I had downloaded 2 similar codec packages for windows media player. I removed both of them reinstalled just one latest one. Media player is now playing songs and video perfectly.
