flashing orange light on.. cpu

i went to turn on my dell xps desktop computer and i noticed that there is a flashing orange light near where i push to turn on the cpu... and it just remains flashing and won't turn on the computer.. its been happening off an on for about a week now..so after i see it flashing i go and turn off the power cords and wait for about half an hour and then the computer will turn back on..so i want to know what is going on with the computer and if it can be fixed or better to just buy a new computer..thanks in advance!

A blinking orange light means some sort of hardware failure.  It could be your power supply, your motherboard, or anything else. Inspect and clean(by blowing out with compressed air) the inside then try unplugging everything except the power supply and see if it turns on.  Then replug everything else in succession (motherboard, hard drive, dvd rom, etc) and turn it on after each time you reconnect one device.  Hopefully you will find the problem and be able to replace the offending device.
