hardware crash?

My Inspiron Dimension 9150 gives unregularly alarms and stops after that with a code (green numbers) 4 and 5 in the front. Sometimes after a while teh system starts up again after restarting, sometimes not. Who can telle me what de code 45 means in this case and what to do. I'm greatfulle for any response.

First, you posted in the wrong forum section.  This section is for Desktop AUDIO problems.

Second you have a DIMENSION 9150, not an "Inspiron" if you have a desktop.

There are only four diagnostic lights on the front panel.  Lights 3 and 4 indicate a possible memory problem.

This is what the manual states for lights 3 and 4:

  • If you have two or more memory modules installed, remove the modules, reinstall one module (see "Memory"), and then restart the computer. If the computer starts normally, reinstall an additional module. Continue until you have identified a faulty module or reinstalled all modules without error.
  • If available, install properly working memory of the same type into your computer (see "Memory").
  • If the problem persists, contact Dell.

Thank you very much for your advice. I changed the slot of one of the memory modules and the system works probably without problem now.
