help with installing drivers
I just got thru doing a clean install using the Dell Reinstallation CD Microsoft Windows XP Professional on a Dell Dimension 1100/B110. I don't have a drivers CD though. I see that I can put in the Service Tag number in and it will show the drivers..
1. How can I save them from my laptop to a flash drive so I can put the flash drive into the Dell and install the drivers sense I don't have the driver installed to use the internet on the Dell yet?
2. What order do I use to install the drivers?
3. I seen that a few of the drivers have more then one driver for that one. Which one do I use?
I would be very thankful for any kind of help with this, sense Dell cant help me sense its been past 5 years they said...

Yes, you can save the drivers to a USB thumb drive, for installation.
Download the drivers to the Desktop and transfer the drivers to the USB thumb drive, using the 'Send To' menu [right click the folder and select Send To] select the USB drive, that should be shown in the drop down menu.
After this is completed, you can delete the drivers listed on the desktop, if you so wish
Install the drivers in this order,
1-Desktop System Software
2-Chipset.
3-Video.
4-Network Interface Card [NIC]
5-Audio.
6-Then the rest of the drivers and applications, that's required.
After installing each driver, restart the system.
Note: Remember to load the Microsoft updates and the A/V definitions.

Thanks for taking the time to look everything up Bev. Im gona give it a shot. The only thing I came across is that when I went to download the video driver to the folder, it went to a error HTTP 500 page.. Im sure after I get the drivers on the Dell and the windows updates that the driver might get picked up or I will try from the Dell computer...Thanks again..Rob

Glad to have helped and good luck.
I downloaded the Intel Springdale G Integrated Video, v.6.14.10.4299, A07 driver on to a Win 8 system and save it, without any issues.
