optiplex 960 blue screen on XP install
I have raid turned off to legacy (blue screened with it on too). Gets to installing devices and blue screens with
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
I've tried F6'ing the raid driver in and now can't even get an install on a single, non_RAID sata drive. Anyone seen this?

Are you using the OS Reinstallation CD that normally ships with a Dell? If not, you need to be using a Windows XP installation CD that incorporates at least Service Pack 2. Anything earlier will not have the drivers for the PCI-Express bus that the 960 uses for video.

No, I ordered with FreeDOS. Didn't want to pay the Windoz tax.
And, no I didn't have XP SP2. I'll try that. THanks!

Worked perfectly. Actually while I was slipstreaming, I decided to go all out and slip an SP3. That with the F6'd RAID drivers works perfectly. Thanks again.
