precision 470 cpu temperature
i've got a dual 3GHz precision 470 (xp sp2), and using both motherboard monitor and the boot diagnostic software, the cpu temperatures are reported as being around 59-61C for cpu0 and 51-54C for cpu1 at idle (20C/68F ambient). at full load, the temps for both jump to 70-72C.
the fans pass the diagnostic (high/low), and i can hear them speed up a bit (but nowhere near the diag's high fan speed) when the cpu load is high. so i suspect that part of the temp control circuit works fine.
i'm wondering if the temperatures reported in the diag are accurate, as 60C seems extremely high for a cpu at 100% utilization, let alone at idle.
anyone else seeing temperatures this high?

HI,
Yes I have a precision 470 with Daul 2.8 CPU's , and I get the same readers as you. And from what I have read, that is a little to high, because those temps under full load is reaching the Max temps of the cpu's according to intel, which means that ours cpus will burn out quicker.
