(redirected) Latitude E6430 disable trackpad

I have hunted and found no answer. The only answer I've found is:

"You can disable the touchpad by double clicking on the Dell Touchpad icon in the lower right taskbar. Once you open it up you will see where to turn the touchpad off/on."

My problem is, is that there is NO ICON in the taskbar.

How do I disable the track pad? What service/program do I need to run (download) to get that icon up?

I'm wasting so much time with the cursor flicking all over the place with just air wafting over the pad.
