100% Fan problem, resolved?
On one of DELL_Chris_M's post he lists steps one can take to possibly resolve the 100% Fan speed problem.
The link is: http://www.dellcommunity.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=Tech_Talk_XPS&thread.id=40463
Has anyone had any luck with this? I'm about to do it in a few minutes. Any feedback will help.

I have never experienced this, but have plenty of others.
What is your system configuration? Please include if RAID of any kind is involved. Also include any other odd stuff you notice.
thnx

Any Fan or Light problems after replacing the motherboard?
Because I already had the fans replaced, and no difference. I have a work order in to have my Master i/o board replaced.

MB was replaced to day as well as the PS.
Still there and consistant.
BTW, mine is an XPS630I 4G DOMINATOR RAM, 8800GT, AGEIA PHYSX 3.0 DUAL CORE INTEL. 320 SATA.

The master I/O board is the issue (See the sticky post re: XPS 630 Fan running at 100%. Need your help.). There is an issue with the way the nVidia Control panel software updates the board that causes fan & light issues. I have not suffered the 100% fan issue, however after setting up a profile for the lights on my 630 I lost control over the fans (control sliders stuck at 100%, but fans running at 5-10 %), and my light settings wouldn't hold through a reboot (all lights off on boot). The only thing that fixed it was updating the Control Panel software to 1.5.2000.01 (Dell_System-Utilities-ESA_A02_R177586.exe), then flashing the MI/O board with a known good flash file (see posts on www.my630i.com). This fixed the fan and light problems for me for now. I was able to duplicate the issue after trying the profiles out again under the nVidia Control Panel, so that's to be avoided until Dell settles on a formal fix. One thing to make sure - the MI/O reset jumper (behind the PCI cage fan housing) should be on position 2-3. Resetting that jumper didn't help fix my issue, but I did notice the fans consistently ran at 100% if the jumper was set to 1-2 (reset position).
Hope this helps! As always, tinker/tweak/modify at your own risk.

No problems where solved by replacing motherboard, cpufan and cpu. The "cpu_fan: fan speed is incorrect" message is still there , error code 3700:011B, and lights still blinking fans doesn´t working and so on.

I keeped questioning the MIO board as the issue and also asked the L2 if it was possible.
It was ingnored and he tried to replace everything but the MIO.
I let the machine run all night and this morning it was sitting BSOD.
rebooted, but windows did not detect a fatal error had occured. ????
I'll try what u suggest, at this point I qualify for replcement, because they replaced more than three major components.
I will let them proceed with it and if the error is still on the new system, then the need to address another bios and MIo fix.
system invoice was 4/27 I emailed support on the 15 of may within 21 days, but never received a response.
Since I did not have proof of the issue until I entered a chat session on 5/27 I had to go thru the pain of the 3 major component replacement.
so far the L2 has not responed and of course u can not contact them directly.
If a tech owns and issue I should have the right to contact them directly even if an appointment has to be made.
