Dimension E510 will not turn on, flash of amber light on power button, what do I do?

My computer shut down from a power outage. It will not power on.  I get a flash of amber light from the power button; no diagnostic lights, no fans, no hard drive.  Are there reset buttons I should try?  Any guidance you can give is much appreciated!

A blinking amber power button LED could mean a power supply or motherboard failure.

The 5150/E510 troubleshooter is here <ADMIN NOTE: Broken link has been removed from this post by Dell>

First open the case and check all the power cables, by removing and reseating them.

No difference, as a power supply costs less than the motherboard, either replace or use a different power supply.

The D-5150/E510 does not use a Dell proprietary power supply, you can use most standard generic ATX power supplies with either a 24-pin or 20+4-pin main motherboard power connector. This system has an open back panel, a power supply with or without the on/off switch can be used.

Make certain the power supply has two SATA power connectors.
