Mass deploy a bios password?

I have about 3k computers that were shipped without any bios password. I work for a school district and students just found out that they can set a password. Apparently teachers do not watch the students. Most are optiplex 740s.

So, I'm wondering if there is any way I can set a password on these 3k computers without having to goto each one via group policy or through a pxe boot?

If you have any suggestions please let me know.

Thanks

ChaddH,

I had to go to my enterprise folks to get this. Honestly, it is way over my head.

CCTK or DCCU can do that for you. DCCU may be the easiest as you can create a single executable that sets the password (as long as you don’t want a unique password for each system). You can push out that .exe with GPO or whatever. It has silent install switches to make it seamless.

Thanks, this is exactly what I was looking for. I was unaware anything like this was around. I tested and it worked great. Getting ready to deploy!

Thanks again

ChaddH. How are you deploying this, via a script? I can get the the GUI to work, but I am having trouble with the batch file that I am trying to use. If you can provide any assistance that would be awesome. Thanks
