For both the problems
visit this site http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx? and enter your service tag or select the dimension model from the list
Download the appropriate drivers from that list

i am having the same problem!!
i have a dimension 4700--it crashed the other day and i am missing the video, audio, and multimedia controller--
its making me crazy!!!
anyone with help would be great!!
