Optiplex GX620 - Dell X398D 256MB Radeon HD 3450 Full Height Graphics Card
Hi Folks. I'm new to this site. Can anyone tell me if
- the Dell X398D Radeon HD 3450 Graphics Card is compatible with the Dell Optiplex GX620 and, if so,
- does it support dual VGA monitors?
Thanks,
Grant

I would recommend an XFX 4650 instead.

There are 2 versions of the card or rather 2 brackets.
While it will work its an LFH card and really old and slow. If it does not come with both the Dual VGA and Dual DVI cables its worthless and useless.
Why do you want to use that card instead of a newer card like the 5450 or better?

The Asus Silent EAH5450 fits in all models of the GX620 EXCEPT the USFF.
Definitely supports 2 monitors.

Thanks for the quick response. I think I was trying to save a bit of money ... also .... my Optiplex GX620 is the slim model (DT), so I need a low profile card.
A few questions about the 5450 .....
I can modify a wider card by changing the end plate (if the plugs are not spread apart)
I tried an x600 128mb .... it disabled the on board video ... and did not support dual monitors. I'm not looking for speed .... just multi-monitor functionality.
Again, thanks.

All Radeon HD Series Support XP Vista 7 8 etc.
The Asus card comes with a driver disk.
The catch is that you Must have XP SP3 and Dotnet 1.0 thru 4.0 installed BEFORE trying to install the driver.
I highly recommend you download these to a flash drive as they will go away soon.
