Price difference between US and Canadian XPS models
I am surprised that there hasn't been any discussion about the price differences yet (or maybe there has and I missed it), especially from Canadian forum members. I just did a quick check and there seems to be at least a thousand dollar difference between the loaded xps 720 from the US to Canadian site. Has anyone from Canada gone across the border to order a computer from Dell (not sure how that would work)? Would be interested in hearing any experiences out there. I would hope that in the next few months that the Canadian site prices come closer the the US prices.

A buck used to be near $1.50 Canadian
Now a buck is less than a loonie!

$5,500.00 (USD)
$5,479.65 (CAD)
I see the XPS air cooled has dropped a couple of hundred bucks CDN today over yesterday.
For comparison with the BB, a similarly equipped 720 H2C box (or as close as possible) costs:
$5,934 (USD)
$6,396 (CDN)
Dell's options makes it impossible to configure matching US and CDN systems. For example, the BB has a QX6850 processor as does the US config priced above. But the CDN config does not offer a QX6850; the max is the QX6700. Similarly, the keyboard/mice options differ, as do the hard drives available. The US config has the same 160 raptor/500 other drive combo as the BB; the CDN price is for the default offering of drives (320 gig in raid 0, 7200 rpm) because there is no single 160 raptor offered. But even if exact options were available, the CDN price far exceeds the US price, and under the current fiscal environment is simply a scam on CDN buyers.
The 'base' price for the H2C before configuring is $5,718 CDN, compared to $5,089 US or $6,908 US, since they have two starting options compared to our one.
I've pinged HP to see when in October the custom versions of the BB can be ordered. Unless Dell really gets their act together with pricing, my future sale will go elsewhere.

I can't imagine you are the only one to notice so I bet they are losing a lot of sales due to this issue.
It shows Dells lack of world presence compared to HP or IBM.
Despite the fact that Dell has 'web portals' for other countries there are always issues and delays that people outside of the US have to endure, which are worse than what we have here.

XPS720 base US = $1699. Thats 1653 Canadian dollars. On Dell.ca base for same configuration is 1799. I know its only $150 but its $150 bucks for nothing.
What bugs me more though. Upgrade the base to a QX6700. In US add 900 (thats 875 CND)
On the Dell.ca site upgrading to the same chip = ......1180 !
upgrade HD to 1TB in US for $390. In Canada 550.
And on and on it goes. Result = NO SALE. And Dell will NOT get my business until they stop this foolishness and price gouging at the Canadian site.
