Are you booting DOS to use ASSET.COM, or are you running it in a command prompt under windows? It will only work if you boot DOS.

Use SM_INFO.EXE instead.

I need something that can be used through DOS. I just need to know the actual extension for asset.com that allows me to to input the asset tag into the BIOS and make it visible.

i heard that there was an "asset /s" command. What does that exactly do?

After placing Asset # ; how do you pull the info out.. What are the variables to look for??

vvv is the 3 digit system board rev,
- is a don't care character, but must be present
ASSET /b /d Delete system board tag
ASSET /f [other_options] Force Affirmative response
ASSET /x [other options] eXtended display - displays all tags
