WEIRD dell dimension 9100 blinking amber power light

Ok, i've got a dell dimension 9100 that at first was dead with only the motherboard light. so i swapped the psu and it got better. now when you plug it in it starts up with the blinking power light and numbers 2 and 4 light up, then if you leave it for a few minutes it boots up normally except the mouse and keyboard don't work or its frozen not sure which( this is once it boots up and is at the desktop).  also i do know it has some sort of virus on it not really sure though a friend gave it to me to remove the virus for them and now its doing this after i moved the computer. any help would be appreciated! thanks

Hi,

Welcome to the community

2-4 Led indicator means there is something wrong in the video subsystem configuration. Do you have an add-on video card? Or are you using the VGA (integrated card)? For mouse and keyboard have you tried reseating them, or have you tried using a different USB ports to test with?
