Will I need a new heatsink? (530s cpu upgrade)

Hello everyone,

I'd would like to upgrade the processor on my Dell Inspiron 530s to one from the list of compatable processors below:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 (2.33 GHz, 1333 MHz FSB)
Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 (2.66 GHz, 1333 MHz FSB)
Intel Core 2 Duo E7300 (2.66 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB)
Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 (2.80 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB)
Wolfdale Core 2 Duo, E8400, 3.0GHz, 6MB, 1333FSB, 65W, E0
Wolfdale Core 2 Duo, E8500, 3.16GHz, 6MB, 1333FSB, 65W, C0
Wolfdale Core 2 Duo  E8500 (3.16 GHz, 1333 MHz FSB)
Wolfdale Dual Core Kit, E8600, 3.33GHz, 6MB, 1333FSB, 65W, E0

Intel Pentium E6500 2.93 GHz dual core processor.

My current processor is the Intel Pentium Dual-Core 2140 (1.6 GHz, 800 MHz FSB).
Everything on my 530s is stock with the exception of a RAM upgrade (3gb instead of 1gb) and Windows 7 (instead of Vista).

Will I need to replace the heatsink if I upgrade to any of the processors above?  If so, what heatsink would I need?

Thank you in advance,

Josh

My last 530s had the E6550 in it, and I would say if you stick with the Dual- Core, you should be ok with the one you have. But remember to use new thermal paste when you upgrade your CPU.
