XP Pro install giving Blue Screen

Question

I have a brand new Dimension E520 right from Dell.  I let it go through it's initial setup that Dell packages them with and the OS runs fine. I have an XP Pro license and would rather install this.  Each time I boot off the CD and XP starts to detect all the hardware I get the Blue Screen.    I've had this problem with Precisions at work and the fix was to slipstream SP2 with the XP Pro disc.  I did this but it doesn't work.  Still getting the blue screen.  Any ideas?

OK So i'm answering my own post. :smileysurprised:  I had to go into the Bios and set RAID Autodetect / ATA.  I found this on another post refering to a Dimension 9100 though.  http://www.vr6.com/misc/Dell_9100_Installation.htm

I'm happy you worked out your dilemma.   FYI...for all those who wish to upgrade or install XP PRO SP2 use the genuine Dell O/S installation disk which includes the slipstream.
