XPS 8700 Bluetooth Not Working
I have an XPS 8700 purchased in October and running Windows 7. I'm having trouble getting bluetooth to work properly. I've downloaded and installed the latest driver, but when looking at Dell Wireless 1703 Bluetooth in the Device Manager, it has an error under device status of "This device cannot start. (Code 10)" I have tried a couple of times to uninstall the driver, reboot, reinstall to no avail.
Any idea what I can do to get this working?
Thanks,
Craig

Craig, You must have, like myself, received one of the approximately 280 XPS 8700's that were shipped from the factory without having the Dell 1703 Wireless Bluetooth drivers published .. thus your BT will not take the 4.0 BT update and therefore does not work. Go to Dell Support live chat and let the guys try to solve your problem remotely which they will not be able to do. When they have done their thing tell them you want an onsite tech, assuming you are still under warranty, to come to your home and install an Intell 6235 WLAN BT half mini card in the old 1703 slot ... install the two 6235 updates from Dell driver support and you will have a flawless Bluetooth program. No warranty? Get a 6235 card for $25-30 and install it your self takes about 20 minuets.

Hi ,
Good day! Thank you for writing to the DCF (Dell Community Forum).
Uninstall the existing Bluetooth driver. Reinstall the Chipset driver. Restart the system when done. Reinstall the 1703 driver. Restart the system when done. Re-test.
If you have further questions, please reply on this thread.
Thanks and regards.
