I have a Dell XPS 8910 with 16GB of memory and it came as a single 16GB memory module, so it runs in single channel mode. If you research single channel vs dual channel there is not much performance difference unless you are doing serious simulation/parametric analysis. On the plus side, if you plan to increase memory to 64GB for example you will not be wasting two 8GB memory modules.

Thanks for the information. I cannot get a straight answer from the Dell Chat line. I specifically asked about the memory module configuration on the 16GB system.  I am looking at a 8920 with two U2415 monitors. I have already found the monitors cheaper at Micro Center in Houston than what is listed on eth Dell Website. They have a 8920 with the Windows 10 Pro, NVIDIA 1080 Graphics Card and 16GB memory. This one only has a DVD and the top of the line has a Blue Ray disc which I need.

The XPS 8920 that I just received has the 2x8GB UDIMM installed in Slot 1 (dimm1) and 3 (dimm2). Supports up to 64GB, but you'd have to pitch the 2x8 modules. Dell seems to only offer 2x8GB for a memory upgrade which would take it to 32GB
