lost control of my mouse help !!!!!

i have dell dim051 i,ve had it for over a yr now never had any problems with it until about 2 weeks ago my mouse has been acting crazy it shoots all over the screen. ive scanned every thing no virus ro spyware everything is up to date drivers and all ive unpluged the mouse uninstalled it and stil the same thing acting irratic all over the screen .....
can anyone help out ??? thanks

what kind of mouse is it? is it an optical or trackball? either or, it sounds like its a deffective mouse, time to buy a new one! i recomend an optical mouse, ravi

What kind of mouse? Ball or optical? If it has a ball, turn it over and gently turn the ring around the ball (look for the arrows) to open it. Remove the ball and clean out the dust bunnies from inside. There's ususlly 3 rollers inside that get gunked up with dirt. Don't use any liquids to clean inside the mouse.

If this is an optical mouse, try wiping the surface cover over the LED on the mouse's bottom.

And try a different mouse pad too because they're is a common cause for wandering rodents.

sorry should ve specified what kind of mouse i had its an optical mouse its from dell
i was thinking the same thing maybe its time is up and need to replace it .....i ll give it a try thanks

yeah. i also had an optical mouse go bad. no biggie. shudnt cost u more than $20. , ravi
