I've tried it and it does look for updates on the nVidia site. Problem is on a couple of occasions it offered an 'update' that was actually a previous version to what I have :-).
Thats part of the ESA software I don't use that I Just check manually. You could try uninstalling and reinstalling unless you have a 630 as that is another can of worms..
When I click on Help- About NVIDIA Control Panel in my Nvidia Performance, it says version 1.5.2000.01. Are you running ours or the retail Nvidia software? Like Davet50, I update the drivers manually. By the way, the Dell drivers site is very slow today.

Thanks for your help, its great to get some support and I am feeling a bit better about my few problems now as I'm sure with help it will all work out.
I am running all the Dell versions. How can I actually check the versions of the individual components? the about from control panel says "Version 1.5.2000.10"
Should I be avoiding the updates offered by this anyway then ? If I choose to update manually, again should I be sticking to the Dell versions or are the Nvidia verson's safe to use?
Odd, following your post I thought I'd remove all the versions I had and install the ones from your link. All unistalled perfectly, all installed accept the system update.
When I try to run this it extracts to a file "R177586" but then continues to tell me that a version of this softwarre is already installed and I have to remove it before continuing.
I have checked (what was the add/remove programs) in the control panel and update is not there, nor is it in the Nvdiia control panel. I had already installed the "Performance" part, is this the problem? as this is the only part I have installed.
I worked solely from the links supplied, should I be using some different ones? - would really, really love to know how to check the versions of the individual parts.
BTW, the Nvidia control panel still reads "Version 1.5.2000.10" - should I be trying to change this too ?

Very odd. I would not worry about the Updatre Your Drivers app. I will always post links to the newest ones. But, I have sent the issue off to engineering.

Ooops, I guess the frustration is getting to me... the o/s is Vista Home Premium.
The link I was refering to was within the Nvidia control Panel, under the section "System update", when I click on "Update your drivers"
I'll try and wake up now....

DELL-Chris_M:
On the ESA System Update, don't you mean R176128 v2.00.22.05, A00, because that's what you have posted previously here at DCF and at my630i.com.
