E20-547 for VNX2??
Hi all,
i'm currently considering taken the E20-547 VNX Solutions Specialist Exam for Storage Administrators but is this a wise thing to do as the VNX2 is released and there will be probably a new of updated exam within a couple of months?!??
is there already something known about certifications about the VNX2 or will there be a upgrade path for VNX1 storage admins?

The E20-547 is currently scheduled to be updated on January 10, 2014. Have you checked out the Proven News and Updates link on the education portal? This is a great place to view upcoming (or past) changes to the program.

I have the same exact question as I would like to pursue the VNX certification but am unsure about the timing at this point.

Thanks for your response. I'm enrolled in the VNX Unified Storage Deployment and Management course for mid-October. Does that mean that I would have to wait until January to sit for the exam?

thanks, i have already followed the vnx block and file deployment and management courses, do i need additional training for taking the VNX2 specialist exam or will there be some kind of update training/documentation available to prepare for the exam?

All of the e-learnings associated with the EMCSA VNX learning path are already updated for VNX2.
The ILT is expected to be available by the end of the year. The VILT version is expected to be available early next year. I'll let you know if I get any updates.

Hello
I have learning material from last year for VNX E20-547. I am not too sure if I have the most recent ones.
If latest VNX has the same exam number as new one so how do I know that these tests are different or the same. It creates confusion.
How do I make sure that i am preparing based on the correct material.
I do not want to spend time and effort to study an old stuff. However , not interested to spend 5000 dollars to buy material I already have.
Your help is highly appreciated.

The best source for information regarding a specific exam is the exam description document. Not only does it provide detail regarding what is covered on the exam, it includes when the exam was last updated (and the corresponding training), recommended curriculum and a link to the practice test. The E20-547 exam and training materials were last updated as of January 10, 2014. A complete list of all active exam description documents can be found here. You can validate the date of your training materials against the last update date.
You can also opt to "Follow" this document to automatically be notified when changes are made.
