Exclusing Boot Devices via Script
I am using OMCI 8 to script change the BIOS settings to secure our boot process. Our security team has asked that we exclude all boot devices except the hard drive. how can this be done through OMCI scripting?

At this time, OMCI 8.0.1 does not support the "disable" function for boot devices, just the ordering of them. It will be corrected in a future version. You can use CCTK to disable boot devices.

Ok, I have downloaded the CCTK. I have about 1200 dell machines spread across branches in North and south america. The machines are optiplexes ranging from GX270's up through GX790's. We also have precisions - 490 throoough T5500. I have remote software distribution capability to these machines via Altiris. In the end, I need to prevent people from booting from any other device other than the hard drive(s) and set a password on the BIOS so that the user can not change this.
I have a script which uses OMCI to set the password.
I had hoped to use OMCI to do the rest just to keep it simple. I need to get this done by the end of the month. In terms of disabling a boot devices. What is the best way to use CCTK to create the BIOS change files to do this?

Is there documentation available for CCTK 2.0.1. The install created a start menu item pointing me to support.dell.com/.../smcctk. None of the manuals listed come up?

Enabling/disabling boot devices in CCTK is available when you use the template for the current system. if you use the template to push out to multiple systems, you are not presented with this option. If I create the BIOS update with CCTK on a given system using the "This System's File" template, can I use the package across other like systems? For example, a package created on a Lattitude D830 could be used across all Lattirtude D830's.

here is the direct link to the CCTK 2.0.1 docs.

The CCTK template should work for all systems, but the desired configuration items will only be applied if the system has the item available.
