KB problem

Few days ago I did search for one error and did get support solution that look something I was after and when I click on that I did get message in new window that I do not have permission to see that. I checked once again and support solution was marked as approved. Hmm I though and went out marking that somewhere in my memory.

This morning I wanted to recheck that and found things to be even more terrible than I thought. I hope this is temporary and maybe even profile specific... Here we go.

1. Go to KB search (advanced)
2. In "Search for" filed put "WARNING! These file names were not selected:" without quotes
3. For "Select Support Resources" select E-Lab, SR and SS
4. For "Product Type" select Software
5. For "Product Family" select either "Backup and Recovery" or "Storage Software"
6. In Product select NetWorker
7. Click on Search

First thing you will notice is that search mask now is changed:
a) all supported resources are selected
b) product is changed to Any

I'm not sure if that is intended or not, but I know that having CLARiiON and some other unrelated products in search result list is not intended (eg. emc25941 and emc96880).

However that is not what I wanted to talk about :D

Once again I see interesting and related article noted as emc83957 on which I click and new window (IE) or tab (FF) is opened and now instead of permission error I get empty page. Hmm. (btw, link I get is http://knowledgebase.emc.com/emcice/documentDisplay.do;jsessionid=DDC4D00C820F7976F7FFE98043AF9449?docType=1006&clusterName=DefaultCluster&resultType=5002&groupId=1&directSolutionLink=1&page=&docProp=$solution_id&docPropValue=emc83957&passedTitle=null)

Let's try another random article. emc48393. Same thing - empty screen. Actually it is not empty as it has "" on top. (link I get is http://knowledgebase.emc.com/emcice/documentDisplay.do?docType=1006&clusterName=DefaultCluster&resultType=5002&groupId=1&directSolutionLink=1&page=&docProp=$solution_id&docPropValue=emc48393&passedTitle=null)

Back to search list. I see some SS are marked as approved and some as Approved. Those Approved are esg articles while approved are emc articles. I have a feeling that Approved ones will work. Let's check. esg53189. It works. (link I get is https://solutions.emc.com/nsepn/webapps/stqv768481dmts46655278/emcsolutionview.asp?id=esg53189)

Above has been tested several times using IE7 and FF2.01 browsers. Can you please fix it?

Hrvoje,

We believe the issue with "emc..." solutions not appearing should now be fixed. There was a failure in one of our back-end jobs that was causing this. Thank you for pointing this out. Please let me know if you continue to see any issues with Solutions not opening up and displaying content.

Best,

Adam
