Dell Equallogic PS4100e Hard drive
Hi Guys
From what I have read, it seems the Eql PS4100e is not compatible with any drive except for Dell EQL certified drives.
We are struggling to find drives, and we did not originally supply this model.
Is there any other workaround for this?

Hello George,
I am afraid not. The drives are custom manufactured so you can't make an OEM or even a Dell Server drive work in an EQL array. They are specific to EQL.
They can be same MFR PN or firmware revision, still won't work.

Would just like to give you an update, we got in contact with Dell, spoke to an Aileen representative and the EQL is still under warranty.
Now to me that is fantastic news, so they will be shipping out a drive for replacement.
One less stressful night for me.
