Failover of FS7610

We have two FS7610 NAS devices.  They are not configured as a cluster, instead the FS7610 at our production site is replicated hourly to a FS7610 at our DR site.

In reading documentation on these devices, I see information talking about a failover to a 2nd controller.  And I'm pretty sure they're talking about to the 2nd controller in the FS.

Is there any documentation that lists the steps to follow to failover to a 2nd FS, in our case our DR FS7610?

Hello,

On the EQLSUPPORT.DELL.COM website with the FS firmware downloads you can download a PDF that covers this process in detail.

Hello John,

I believe that's covered in the admin guide.  I'm checking on that now.  What version of FluidFS are you running?

The short of it is.  Promote the volumes on the DR side, then depending on how you are integrating that into your network, (DFS, or just DNS) set it to point to the new FS unit.

Re: Failover to 2nd CM.  Yes that would be if you had two units on each side in a cluster configuration.

Don

You are very welcome.  I have to thank another engineer, Gary who found this for me. :)
