PS100e
Hello. I have a PS100 (type 2) in a lab test environment. I'm trying to initialize the array using the latest Remote Setup Wizard (v. 4.7.1). The utility finds no unitialized arrays.
Q: does the latest version still support initializing an EOL unit (PS50, PS100, etc.). If not, what "legacy" version does?
Q: As I cant get to the eth 0 port (no IP), how do I make sure it's uninitialized?
... next path will be to locate a serial cable that works (which I know I dont have).
Thanks for any help

Hello Atti,
There's no reason the a newer HIT kit shouldn't work with the PS100e. It sounds like its setup.
You will have to get to the serial port. Here's the wiring pinout.
Solution Title Serial Console Cable, Identification for Type I, II Controllers, Pinouts for RJ-45 connector
Solution Details
Type-2:
FRU PN 95-0517. Cable will have a white ID tag with 51-0008 marked on it. It is 10 feet long, black with a DB-9(F) and the RJ-45 on the other end
Here is the pinout for the RJ-45 serial connector used on the EqualLogic Type-2 (SATA 2 Control Module):
1 - DTR (out)
2 - CTS (in)
3 - Chassis Gnd
4 - RxD (in)
5 - TxD (out)
6 - Sig Gnd
7 - RTS (out)
8 - DSR (in)
In current firmware versions we do not purposefully set, or respond to, any of the control signals (DTR, CTS, RTS, DSR), so you should either configure the device you are connecting so that it ignores them, or provide local loopbacks as needed.
The serial settings are: 9600 baud, no parity, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no flow control.
Regards,

BTW, if you don't want to make one, you can find them on ebay as well.

Hello Donald. Thanks a bunch for your reply. I know my unit is EOF, no support. So i DO appreciate the response. I'm currently on the hunt for a serial cable. I maybe mistaken, but isn't your second reply (the micro db9 cable on eBay) for a type I controller. Mine simply has a RJ45 for the console port.
Nonetheless, I should be able to find one on eBay, so thank Donald.

That's an RJ45->DB9 standard serial port cable. The Type I, had a custom connector on it, to db9.
