8600 keyboard flex fixed?
can those of you who who've received your 8600's in the last few weeks weigh on whether the keyboard flexing (on the left-side of the keyboard) issue has been resolved? still holding off on my purchase until i can get confirmation from real-users whether this issue is fixed.
thank you

I removed the keyboard, and noticed some thin foam strips on the right side (some posters here have photographs of that). On the left side appears to be the CPU and other "hot" devices, so they probably did not add foam due to the need for cooling and air flow.
The flex on the left side is unfortunate, but I can live with it.
What I CANNOT live with are the Trackpoint mouse buttons. That is a design defect, plain and simple. But I'll save that for a separate thread.

No, I just send my Inspiron 8600 back, few keys fell off and system did not boot. Had it for 4 days.
Board is flexing terribly. Checked with HP and Toshiba no problem, firm as a rock.

I have keyboard flex on the RIGHT side! Mine is a refurbished 8600 just 2 weeks old. I have been carrying it around in a padded bag and haven't abused it in any way.
But now the enter key on the right-hand side, is feeling very spongy. It's makes a very visible depression when you push it down. And if you push it down on the left side of the button it doesn't have any reaction. But if you push on the right side, it works consistently.
I find this to be ridiculous. What does Dell say about this problem?
