I did that and the unzip and download goes just fine but when it comes time for the installation it keeps giving me a message saying "The hardware detected is not supported by this IDT software package. The install will be aborted."
Thank you for your reply and for providing an update on the issue status. There are three variants in Latitude E6400. Please visit the following link and enter the Service Tag in the “Yes” section and click “Submit”: http://dell.to/YFr4GW
On the driver download page, select the Operating System from the dropdown menu and download the driver listed in the Audio section. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

I suggest you to download and install the audio drivers from the following link:

Please follow the steps provided in the “Installation Instructions” section to install the drivers and let me know if you need further assistance.

When you get your audio back, there is a section regarding Latitude 6400 & 6500's in the Choppy/Skipping Audio FAQ.
