Alienware 17 compatibility problem with razer megalodon

Hello everyone, I jus bought a new Alienware 17 laptop and i tried to plug in my razer Megalodon headset, but the laptop doesn't recognise it. I updated the headset at the latest firmware (2.12) and tried again, bu the problem still represents and i have no idea of what it is caused by. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you in advance and sorry for my bad english, it's not my mother tongue.

Right click on the audio icon on the taskbar. Click "Playback devices". The headset should be there under its own name or under a generic usb audio name. If it does not show then try plugging into a different usb port. If it still does not show up then try it on a different computer if possible. It could be defective.

If you need more help please include the full model name of your laptop (Alienware M17x, M17x R2, R3, or R4), and also the name of your operating system.

The headset doesn't appear with playable devices, it turns on but the computer sems to not even consider it. sometimes it recognises it as generic usb device but it's stil impossible to use it properly, other times the pc fails even to recognise it. The model i own is the Alienware 17 on it lowest configuaration, I'm sure th headset is not defective, beause i tried it on two other computers, a lapto anda a desktop, and it worked perfectly on bot of them, also I alredy tried to plug i in all the usb ports of the alienware.

I don't know the answer. You could try posting on the Alienware section of this forum and see if anyone there knows if it is a known problem with your model.

If you post there, mention that you have already posted on the Laptop Audio board but did not get a solution. and also be sure to tell them the full model name of your laptop. It is one of these:

Alienware M17x

Alienware M17x R2

Alienware M17x R3

Alienware M17x R4
