Audio Problem - Inspiron 2200

I have a Dell Inspiron 2200 with a strange Audio problem.

When it is first turned on, I can hear Audio from a DVD or Internet and it sounds fine.

After several minutes, the sound becomes garbled / wobbles. It is consistent and the same on what ever you use, DVD , Audio CD , Internet .
