Audio Problem while listening to call in my laptop.

Hi

I am a Dell Inspiron user.

I am facing an issue with the incoming call and outgoing call on my laptop.

I have a 3G enabled data card that i use to connect to internet.

When ever a call comes i am unable to hear the voice of caller and even if i try to make call then the same happens.

I have checked my headphones and they are working fine and i have tested through my computer as well.

Also got another headphone to make sure it is not the issue with the headphone or the mike.

Whenever the call comes and i pick it ,it comes up with an error "internal error".

But what that internal error is, i am not sure of.

Searched google for the same and also checked all audio settings but unable to find any solution.

Even without the headphones, the microphone of the system also does not work when call comes in.

Can some one guide on this please, what needs to be done or what needs to be checked to get the issue fixed.

Hi Jim,

Thanks for the reply.

The audio & video works fine in the laptop.

The model no is Inspiron N5010.

The only problem comes up in case the data card Dongle is connected and some one calls on that number.

The moment we pick the call it comes up with "internal error".

Further we are unable to listen to the caller and the caller is unable to listen to us.

Even though if we make a call from the laptop through the same then no voice comes to the person we are calling to.

We tried with the head set & without it using the laptop mike we are unable to listen to the call and caller is unable to listen to call.

Rest every thing works fine we are able to listen to music and we have also tested the head phone & mic and they both are working fine.

Please suggest what else we can try to get this issue fixed.

Hello. Does your audio system works okay when you play a music or audio file?

Please give the model number of your computer (examples: Inspiron1720, Inspiron N5110, etc), and the operating system your are using. Thanks.

Well, you said the headset works and that you have tested it with your computer (by recording into Windows Sound Recorder or something similar?), and that the audio system is working, so all that is left is the device and its driver and settings. If the dongle has a website where you can get answers maybe you can find out what the "internal error" is.

Also on the Dell forum you can post on the Networking/Internet/Wireless board for help with some configuration issues.
