BIOS Options

A lot of the problems I have on my Laptop seemed to be either BIOS oriantated or Windows Xp Service pack 2 oriantated. However, forgeting Xp, I was wondering whter there is any software out there which allows me to view my BIOS details? I can't seem to find them anywhere on my laptop?! I have tried several small pieces of software that claimed tobe BIOS viewers, but the are quite difficult to comprehend.

Any suggestion would be grateful.

P.S Please read my other post about my Blue Screen problem, that is if you have any spare time, thanks again.

to view your bios settings you need to keep tapping F2 at the blue inspiron screen at startup.

I have "sandra lite" software and when I perform check ups on my CPU, it says:

Tip T212 - The BIOS can be shadowed. Shadowing is a technique of copying the BIOS program from slow EPROM or EEPROM to RAM. This may yield some increase in performance.
Fix: Go to BIOS set-up and make sure that System BIOS is both shadowed and cached
.

Notice N224 - SMBIOS/DMI information may be inaccurate. This information is reported verbatim and cannot be checked by Sandra. While brand-name companies set this information most generic manufacturers use generic data that is meaningless. This issue generates more technical support queries than all other issues combined.
Fix: If the information is not correct, check for a BIOS update (clear DMI pool) or fix any errors using the DMICFG tool provided with the board. Alternatively, disable Sandra’s DMI/SMBIOS reporting from module Options

I really wouldn't recommend doing anything that you don't need to do to your BIOS because if you mess up, the computer is useless.

But, what you can do and I recommend you do is install your computer's BIOS upgrade, or at least make sure that it's the newest version.  Just type in your Service Tag and it will tell you what BIOS is for your PC.

And by the way, most "computer analysis" software is generally useless.
