BIOS Update failure on Studio 1557
I got the following error mid way through a BIOS update on my studio 1557 "BIOS update failed! Image verification failed. Error code -200" "See help for troubleshooting". The keyboard has frozen so not much I can do. Anybody know where I can get the "help" mentioned inthe error messgae or what to do next?
Thanks Andy

Hi Elijah,
I beleive I am using the right BIOS file. The machine is currently frozen with the error message on the screen. Are you suggetsing that I power it down and attempt to re-boot the machine? I was running the update from within windows 7 with AC and battery connected, I dont have a bios update boot disk.

By removing the power supply and battery I managed to get it to power down (the button was frozen on) and the machine did boot to windows after a few atttempts. It is the intermitent failure on boot that made me think the BIOS wasout of date in the first place. I have removed the original Vista HDD and replaced with Win 7 SSD so thought the old (A02) version of BIOS was a possible root cause.

Hi,
I have the same problem with exactly the same error: BIOS update failed! Image verification failed! error code: -200
How to update BIOS of my Dell Studio 1557 laptop? Please help.
Also I have purchased 2 pieces of Kingston RAM Memory 4GB DDR3 1600 MHz and I have assmbled them into my machine. However, when I tap F2 and check the setup, it is shown that the Memory Speed is 1333 MHz!
How can I gain 1600 MHz speed of RAM Memory which I have purchased and installed?
Regards,
