Battery Driver?

After a reformat of my hard drive my ac adapter is no longer charging my battery. Under the device manager under batteries it shows Microsoft AC adapter and Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Methond Battery. I am needing the correct drive for my Dell AC adapter. I read in a few post where other people were having the same problem and replies said that this shouldn't matter. But this is the problem because it DID NOT have the problem before hand. I can't find the driver any where. Any ideas?

Did you install the chipset driver and Dell notebooks system software?

Just tried installing them agian, still no luck. One thing I forgot to mention. When I log on a message comes up ans say "Install a dell 90w adaptor" which I have. This problem started right after to format.

When I log on I get the message. I think but I can't remember when I turned the system on I had a message also but I was able to disable it. It has been about 3 months ago so I can't remember what it said. The reason I had to redo the computer is that I had a virus that I could not get rid of and a lot of junk on the hard drive that I wanted to get rid of. I am sure that the adapter is still work because I still use this computer but it has to be plugged in to work.

When you log on, or when you turn the system on? Why did you format in the first place? The error is usually associated with a faulty adapter or a faulty power jack on the system board.
