Battery need to be replaced message

Hi,

We have DELL Inspiron 7537 and its only few months old. Recently we have got a black screen during machine startup saying there is a permanent battery failure and asked to press F1 to continue. Then there was a small dialog box in the task bar which informed that the battery need to be replaced.

We have removed the battery and inserted again but still the problem is not resolved.

The laptop does not work now without the adapter plugged in.

Please let us know how to resolve this issue.

Appreciate a quick response.

Thanks

If the system is under warranty, call Dell support and they'll replace the battery.

If the system is out of warranty, you'll need to purchase a new battery.

Just passed the warranty period. Why this is happening?

Could be a bad cell in the batter, or a bad logic board inside -- there's really no way to know for sure, but the only fix is to replace the battery.
