Best driver for Intel 845G Graphics controller with Win 7 o/s?

I recently upgraded a dimension 2350 desktop to Windows 7.

I understand the the existing graphics card does not support windows 7 Aero and I am ok with that.

I checked the existing graphics driver on the computer and it is Microsoft generic 6.1.7600.16385

I have looked at microsoft and intel documentation and the recommendation is for a (XPDM) driver. Not sure if the driver I am using is the best or perhaps I am using a XPDM driver already not sure?

At the present time the best resolution I can get is 1024 X786 with 256 colors or 640 X 480 high color (16).

Can someone advise of where I can download a better video driver for this desktop (if available) or do I need to add a better video card?

Hi Polerbear

When Vista came out Intel said they were not going to support the chipset you have so it would be the same for Dell with the same chipset with Win 7 there would be no drivers for it ether!!

You will need a newer video card to have it work with 7 and i can not tell witch card to buy to get it working with your computer !!

Maybe some one will come along with some advice for you .

Good Luck
