Bluetooth not working after changing to XP in Vostro 1014

I have a Vostro 1014 and had Vista running in it for last few months. Everything was working fine but the laptop was performing slow for some reasons which i could not figure out. I strongly suspected Vista so changed it to XP and managed to get most of the drivers downloaded from Dell and installed. Everything seem to work fine now except the Bluetooth. I can also see Wireless working fine (DELL 1397 WLAN Mini Card) which deducts the wifi networks. But not sure why i dont see the Bluetooth icon in the task bar and also nothing in the control panel w.r.t the Bluetooth. I did install the Driver R161378 but did not help. I tried fn+f11 but that only switches on/off the wireless, nothing with bluetooth. I did check in BIOS and is enabled.

Am i missing something ? Please help urgently. thank you very much.

My Laptop : DELL Vostro 1014 1G Core2Duo XP SP2.

You need to turn Bluetooth on in Services.

Vista is NOT inherently slower than XP, unless you don't have enough RAM. After upgrading from XP to Vista, performance was actually better than XP.

Vista really needs 2GB for decent performance, but 3-4GB is better. Microsoft corrected this somewhat in Windows 7, which runs good with 2GB.

Hi, thanks for your response. But, I dont see any service having a word "Blue tooth" in my services. Neither do i see anything in Control Panel as well.

What do u think is actually happening here ?

You may also need to turn on BlueTooth in the BIOS.
