Can't get laptop past boot up screen
My Inspiron E1505 will not complete it's boot. It comes up with this error:
PBR 1...done
[XLDR] ATA error
F11 shows no recovery, diagnostic test shows no error. Tried F12, checked F2. I am not that tech savvy but can get around to any instructions giving to help rectify my issue. I don't have a boot disk, never can with the laptop. Does anybody have a solution?

Run the extended hard drive diagnostic (the option will appear after the quick test runs) and you'll likely find the drive is toast. The quick 10-minute test doesn't examine the physical hard drive media (the platters).
One way or another, you're going to need a disc - if you're in the US, see the link below. Outside the US, you will have to call Dell.
