Cannot enable Longevity mode

I want to enable longevity mode on my 7520 battery however the entire panel is dimmed. I can enable desktop mode and other features of the Dell Extended Battery Life options. I have played around with the setting but nothing works. It stays dimmed all the time.

Hi jimmyd101,

I appreciate your efforts to fix the issue and suggest you to update the BIOS and install the latest version of Quickset Utilities. You can download them directly from the following:

BIOS: http://dell.to/UMVAv7

Quickset: http://dell.to/WsQDaX

Please try enabling Logetivity Mode and let me know about your findings.

Hello. Thank you for your fast response.

The problem occurs with the latest BIOS and the latest version of Quickset already installed.

According the PM I got almost a year ago this problem is a known bug that the engineers have to fix. I was told that when the engineers created a fix I would get a PM back about the solution.

Never heard a thing again.

Hello im having the exact same problem with my dell xps 12 9q33. I updated the bios to the latest version but the longevity and desktop mode are greyed out.

After the BIOS update i did i saw that you could enable a mode(custom mode) through the BIOS that charges the battery up to 90%. It looks like that is something like the longevity mode. But i still want to have that option not throught the BIOS but when im on windows.

DELL Please fix this.....

Does anyone from dell even read these posts??
