Compatible RAM for Studio 1458
I did my research before I attempted to upgrade the 4GB of RAM in my laptop. My research told me that two 4GB PC3-10600 DDR3 1333Mhz modules were compatible. I purchased a set from Amazon and only one of them worked in the system. The other module caused the system to crash right after booting.
I returned the set and recently reordered the set assuming that the first set had a bad module. When the new set, I put both in and the system shut down during booting. I tried each of them separately and neither of them worked.
Any advice? What should I be buying? I am going to burn this laptop if I can't upgrade it.

If the module that, when installed, causes the system to fail to boot is in the same socket each time, that socket is bad -- the mainboard will need to be replaced.

But when I put the old RAM modules back in the system, they work fine and the system boots fine. The system crashes when any of the new modules are inserted into any socket.

That's not uncommon for a system with a bad RAM socket - the newer modules are more demanding than the originals.
