Connecting Inspiron 1764 to a 1394 camcorder port
I have an Inspiron 1764 and a camcorder with a 1394 Firewire Digital Video port. In hours of web searches I have not found a way to connect them. Any suggestions?
The 1764 has no firewire port and no express card or mini express card ports.

There's no way. You either need a different notebook or a new camcorder.

Might the Inspiron 1764's HDMI port be configured as an input?

No. Buy another laptop if you need Firewire.
