Hi,

I have the same issue with the same laptop. Go to Video properties, under the Nvidia control panel, look for Advanced Settings and make sure antialiasing and anisotropic filtering are "application controlled".

It worked for me.

Cheers,
Chi

It worked! You are a genius Chi!

Thanks a lot!

PS: I wish Dell's technical support staff would learn how to provide answers as concise and useful as yours :-(

Glad I could help. Dell Tech Support here in Singapore thought it was a hardware issue and wanted to change my screen! I did some research on the web and found out that some video card drivers have issues with Java, especially with antialiasing. So I tried that and it worked for me.

Cheers,

Chi

Tech support in the US wanted me to pay for their "special" software support! Off course, I knew that it had nothing to do with JAVA so I tried the forum and your answer was exactly what I needed. I emailed tech support back so they could see the poor job they were doing ;-)

Thanks again!

My previous posting should have said "I emailed your answer back to tech support so they could see the poor job they were doing ;-)"
