Greetings Vamsi!

Thanks for posting your question here.

I did some digging on AMD’s site. I went with the manual download for the AMD Radeon™ HD 6000M Series.

This is the driver I recommend you try:

http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/mobile?os=Windows+7+-+64

Even though it doesn’t tell you on the front page that it supports the 6000 series, if you click on the release notes, it lists the 6000 series as supported by this driver.

The URL to this driver is also kind of miss-leading as it only mentions ‘Windows+7+-+64’. However, it does list Windows 8.1 as compatible in the release notes. Release notes are found at the link below:

http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/AMDCatalyst14-9WINReleaseNotes.aspx

I hope this driver works for you. Let us know how it goes

Hello, thanks for your reply.

I've followed your suggestion and installed it, but then again, the driver software is detecting my card as 7400m and at most of the time the catalyst control center is crashing.

Moreover, as said by the folks at amd forum, the generic drivers are not compatible with the switchable graphics as the laptop/notebook manufacturers supply their own modded (kinda) drivers.

So my question is simple, why didn't dell provide compatible drivers even after two years??? Did you guys abandoned the product line??
