Dell Inspiron 6400 - display/LCD issues

System - Inspiron 6400

Nothing is displayed on the screen.

I have replaced the LCD (includes inverter)

and also the LCD cable.

Laptop works fine with external monitor.

Diagonstics currently gives following error

2000-0321 error code. - error accessing LCD
2000-0322 error accessing LCD inverter
Video controller test is passed.

Please help me in understanding what else could be wrong with the laptop, is it the motherboard?

Hi dellinsight123,

As you have replaced the LCD along with the LCD cable and inverter, you may try updating the BIOS.

The link is http://dell.to/14vClWF.

Also try reseating the cables for the LCD to ensure the connection is fine. Please refer to the system manual for parts replacement and read the safety information that shipped with your computer.

The link is http://bit.ly/1bDqFeb.

If the connections are fine and the BIOS update does not help in detecting the LCD, the issue may be related to the system board.

Please feel free to reply for any further assistance.

Hi Kuldeep,

Thanks for your reply.

I have already updated the BIOS. It has not helped.

Also everytime I  power on or off the laptop, i see the screen turning white for a second.

Thanks,

Alwyn

Hi Alwyn,

The issue seems to be with the motherboard, as the BIOS update did not help resolving the issue.

If you are residing in US, you may contact Dell Spares at: 1-800-372-3355

Please feel free to reply for any further assistance. I will be glad to assist you.
