Dell Inspiron N5030 touchpad not functioning correctly.
Hi, I have a Dell inspiron N5030 laptop and until recently the touchpad was functioning as it should be. The touchpad still allows me to alter the position of the arrow (just like a mouse would) and open links with a simple tap. The problem is that when I try to use the touchpad for scrolling it doesn't work, and therefore it results in me having to use the arrow buttons or scroll manually on the webpage instead. I have checked the related settings under the control panel and it recognises it as a PS/PS2 mouse which it evidently isn't.
Help would be greatly appreciated for my minor inconvenience. I have either altered something I wasn't supposed to or I'm going loopy and it never had this feature in the first place. :emotion-1:

Hi Jmh_1992,
Welcome to the Community. I suggest you uninstall your touchpad driver, and use the below link to reinstall it. To uninstall, click on start, right click on computer, click on properties, click on device manager, click on the symbol next to pointing devices, right click on Alps touchpad, click on uninstall.
Select you operating system before downloading. The touchpad driver is under Mouse & Keyboard.

Hope this helps.
Thank you
