Dell KM632 Wireless Keyboard number keys do not work

I have a Dell Inspiron 23 5348 desktop computer with a Dell KM 632 wireless keyboard.

This keyboard has no “Fn” or “Num Lock keys.”

Everything worked OK initially, but now none of the number keys work.  When pressing the keys on the number pad, nothing happens.  When pressing the number keys on the keyboard, I get the symbols, regardless of the position of the “Shift” or “Caps Lock keys.”

Also, the “Caps Lock” key seems to be reversed.  When “Caps Lock On” is shown, it types lower case, and when the “Caps Lock On” is not showing, it types upper case.

So, I can’t even open my computer because my password contains numbers.

Also, the keyboard batteries are fresh.

Help!  And thanks.

Hi,

If you can arrange for a cable keyboard, log onto computer and do a system restore.

Have you tried this keybboard on a different machine??

I have an older Dell keyboard but the fitting does not match the new computer.

I'm unable to try the wireless keyboard on another computer because I don't have another that accepts a wireless connection.

Question: If I buy another wireless keyboard (not necessarily a Dell), will the computer recognize it and will I be able to get past my log-in password?

Yes any wireless keyboard will work on the system . If you can borrow a USB keyboard from someone you can log onto your machine meanwhile.
