Dell Latitude D620 Video Card/3D Gaming Issues
Hi all,
I recently picked up a slightly outdated Dell D620 laptop. Centrino Duo 1.83, 2 GB RAM, Intel Integrated Graphics, 224MB shared.
I've been attempting to play a game that I played when I was a kid but I believe I am having video card issues.
The game is Fortress Forever and it runs through Steam. It boots up fine but after the loading screen it cuts to a black screen with a gray triangle emanating from the center of the screen (weird). I press escape and the game crashes.
System requirements for this game: 1.2 GHz Processor, 512MB RAM, DirectX 7 level graphics card, Windows 2000/XP, Mouse, Keyboard, Internet Connection
I shouldn't be having issues with this spec wise? Can anyone shed any light on this situation? Other similar a bit less intensive games work fine.
Maybe try Vista? Run in compatibility mode?
Thanks!
PS I know this isnt a gaming machine...Still, its a nice machine and I don't see why it wouldn't work.

If you already have XP I certainly can't see Vista and compatibility mode helping any further. The fact the other games run alright tells me that the notebook is probably fine. Make sure that you have the most up to date video driver installed.

Try other games, Fortress Forever and Team Fortress are mods of Quake, if possible try Quake and see if it runs alright.
