This is a user to user forum. You need to contact Dell Sales or Customer Service directly. For what it's worth, you will not see your card charged until the computer is shipped. If you have your confirmation number, you are fine. I wouldn't waste time on the phone. Just go to Order Status using the link in the email to check on progress. There is no second order confirmation that I know of. I received a new computer today and my card still has not been charged but the charge was pending when I checked my charge card online.

I know you need to contact them Directly I am posting here because you CANNOT CONTACT THEM DIRECTLY, if you try to contact them you get people from India that refuse to help you and run you in circles lying to you or transfering you onto another Indian that cant help.

There isn't 2 order confirmations but there is a purchase confirmation then an order confirmation if it ever makes it to that stage.  See here is what the email says.

"This e-mail is an acknowledgement of receipt of your Dell Order.

Within 24 hours, you should receive an Order Confirmation e-mail that will contain your
Estimated Delivery Date, your Customer number and your Order number(s)."

It has been 24 hours and I have nothing.  Just the useless purchase ID that the dell people on the phone cant use for anything.

I had a similar problem.  I ordered a laptop off Dell Outlet late at night..  My order was acknowledged immediately, with the promise of an order confirmation within 24 hours.    The following morning I received an anti-fraud call from my credit card company to check the validity of the order.  Everything was cleared and I awaited the confirmation from Dell.

There was total silence and the system did not reappear on Dell Outlet. I could not check the order status online as I did not have a customer number and so called the number on the website two days later and was told that the order had been cancelled.  They claimed that they had sent me a message, but it was not in my email, nor in my spam spam folder.

It seems ludicrous to me that Dell's order system cannot cope with these anti-fraud checks.  I am sure that my situation is not uncommon.  When I contacted my bank, they told me that the funds had now been marked as available and all Dell had to do was resubmit the order in order to get their money.

I eventually wrote to Michael Dell complaining about the way this order had been handled (Cancellation without any communication) and received a holding reply from the UK escalation team.  Three weeks later they had had still not followed up. I called again and after being passed around the houses, eventually spoke to someone who was able to reinstate my order.

I now have my new laptop (but had to pick it up from the courier as they were incompetent - Royal Mail, Citylink and DHL all delivered parcels, but UKMail failed).

This has to be the worst  Internet Shopping Experience I have had.

Just call the Outlet and confirm your order?  The number is shown on the first Outlet web page.  It is 1-866-492-6721 .

You act as if that will actually work.  Have you ever talked to these useless India support people.  They refuse to help you in any way and just say that they cant do anything for you then transfer your call.  Ive called them about 10 times trying to get help.  I cant place another order in place of this one because the laptop isnt on the outlet site anymore.

If you devoted half as much energy to confirming the order as you do about feeling sorry for yourself, you would have an answer.  The phone number is for the sales department and won't connect you to India.

Just to clarify things for you. I have devoted about 5 hours of time to getting my order fixed, either on the phone, chatting or searching on the web for an alternative contact.  I have probably only devoted 20 minutes of time complaining on here.
